Feral Cats

As tempting as it may be, shooting feral cats in the Village is not an option. It is illegal to discharge a weapon within the Village limits. Please see the article on Feral Cats for more information.

AGGREGATION GAS SUPPLIER CHANGE

Effective December 1, 2021, the gas supplier for members of the Aggregation Coalition will change from Constellation to IGS Energy. You will receive a mailing advising of this change. If you wish to stay with the Aggregation group, do nothing and you will be automatically enrolled.

Income Tax

Holland contracts with the Regional Income Tax Agency (R.I.T.A.) for enforcement of its income tax regulations. This includes annual returns, estimated payments, local withholding, etc.

All returns, schedules, and other documents need to be submitted directly to R.I.T.A. Documents submitted to the Village of Holland will be returned to the sender and may result in penalties and fines if the returned filing is late.

All filings and payments may be made online at www.ritaohio.com.

R.I.T.A. also handles all Holland Springfield Joint Economic Development Zone (JEDZ) and Holland Springfield Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) filings including annual returns, estimated payments, and local withholding. 1-800-860-7482 EXT 3263.

DUE TO COVID-19, R.I.T.A. WILL NOT BE HOLDING IN PERSON HELP SESSIONS FOR 2021 RETURN PREPARATION.

Medication Drop Off Container

The Holland Police Department has a permanent unused or expired prescription drop off container in the Police Department Building. Drop off’s will be accepted Monday thru Friday 10 am to 2 pm only. See the link for the drop off container flyer for more information. THE DROP OFF PROGRAM IS SUSPENDED AS OF MARCH 23, 2020 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO COVID-19.

JEDZ TAX INFORMATION

COLLECTION OF JEDZ TAX

The Holland Springfield Township Joint Economic Development Zone (JEDZ) was approved by Springfield Township voters November 2014. The JEDZ imposes a payroll tax on employee wages and taxes net profits from businesses within the JEDZ area.

 

The JEDZ Board of Director’s regularly scheduled meetings are the first Tuesday of each month. The meetings are held at the Municipal Building, 1245 Clarion Avenue, in Council Chambers, beginning at 5:30 pm. Any correspondence for the JEDZ Board can be directed to the above stated address or faxed to 419-866-4795.

 

Beginning July 1 2015, the Regional Income Tax Authority (RITA) will administer and collect these taxes on behalf of the Holland Springfield Township JEDZ.

Yard Waste Cards No Longer Needed

Beginning January 1, 2022, the Village has changed yard waste suppliers. Residents may now take their yard waste, Christmas trees, and grass clippings to Ohio Compost for free drop off. No yard waste cards are required but be prepared to show your drivers license when dropping off materials.

Ohio Compost is located on US20A/Sager Road between Laplante Road and Whitehouse Spencer Road.
