How is Solid Waste Collected?

The Village will only collect blue trash bags from residents on the refuse route. Each residence is limited to three bags of refuse per week. Please do not place the bags in trashcans at the curb. The maintenance crews will not collect bags left in cans.

Where do I get Village Blue Bags

The Village offices at 1245 Clarion Avenue is open Monday thru Friday 8:00 to 4:30 p.m. Each residence on the refuse route is entitled to receive one box of blue bags (100 count) every eight months. Rental units are allotted bundles of 40 bags every three months. Bags are provided to residents of the refuse route at no cost.

What if I need more than 3 bags this week?

If you find you need to place an occasional extra bag out for collection, it is necessary that they be marked with a green excess sticker. The stickers are available at the Village offices at the cost of
$1.00 each.

Do the extra bags need to be blue bags?

No, excess bags do not need to be blue bags. In fact, the Village encourages residents to use regular, 33 gallon trash bags for excess trash. By not using the blue bags as excess bags, you will not need to replace your bags sooner than the allotted eight months ( three months for rentals) and the maintenance crews are better able to identify excess bags.
