1st Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony In conjunction with the Holland Chamber of Commerce, the Holland Springfield Journal and local businesses, the Village will hold its first ever tree lighting ceremony on December 4, 2008 at 7:00pm. Join your neighbors and come enjoy music provided by Springfield Schools, Santa, and hot chocolate and cookies provided by local businesses being served at the Holland Community Building 940 Clarion Ave. . Be sure and see the November 11, 2008 issue of the Holland Springfield Journal for a holiday picture for children ten years old and younger to color.

FALL LEAF COLLECTION The annual leaf collection season will begin on October 1 2008 and run until the December 1st depending on weather. Leaves will be collected from streets on designated days, keeping in mind that due to volume, weather or other unforeseen events, collection may be delayed. MONDAYS - all streets in Whisperwood subdivision, south of the tracks, Angola and Clark THURSDAYS - Clarion, Dunn, Cornwall and Springfield FRIDAYS - McCord, Georgianna, Erie, Columbus, Washington, Almaine, Kipling, Second and Front Be sure that leaf piles do not contain sticks, rocks, or other non-leaf items. Leaves should be placed between the sidewalk and curb on curbed streets and along the road edge on uncurbed streets. Do not block or cover catch basins! Yard Waste from fall clean up of yards can be dropped off at Clean Wood Recycling free of charge. They are located at 6505 W. Bancroft 419-843-9663
